Storm watchman's house or contribution house Kollumerpomp On this Nieuwe Zee- or Buitendijk - at the time the first line of protection against the sea - stands the so-called "Contributiehuisje" cq storm watchman's house that the water board "Contributie Zeedijken Kollumerland en Nieuw Kruisland" had built in 1828. During the 1953 flood disaster, the seawall only barely held out against the swirling water. The gable stone in the house shows that the water rose to 6.23 metres above sea level.
